Vector Poster/ Banner Design
The Center for Epilepsy & Seizure Education in BC required a banner to set up in 2 different major hospitals in Vancouver; Vancouver General Hospital and St. Pauls hospital. They required a simple and purple design to spread awareness for people suffering from Epilepsy. The banners 34"x 72" are massive were set up on stands on the floor of main entrances and places with lots of foot traffic to get maximum exposure.
The concept came from thinking about other massive events like parades, which can have massive floats or balloons to help show and bring attention to a brand or idea. This gave the perfect opportunity to show also how epilepsy works.
Since epilepsy effects the brain sending uncontrollable "Miss fires" to the muscles of the person suffering. The balloon represents the brain of the unfortunate person and the wires/ ropes holding the balloon represent the nerves, which send the information to the rest of the body. The vector of the young girl represents Megan Cassidy a young girl who not only suffers from epilepsy but is also the creator of Purple Day.
